![]() Since we want to make sure that we use the parameters correctly, and they seem confusing to us, we turn to EE. Fastcopy has been noted the fastes and most reliable subsequently, RoboCopy. But since some folder are big, and sometimes the path being copied from "too long file and", we searched the web for a good tool that not only handle the copy or move well, but it was fast. We were using right-click cut in the source folders "John" and pasting it to destination folder C:\Z. So we figured if we move over folders chronologically restored to that folder we would have all data that has been in JOHN folders since 2006. all these folders need to be moved to one folder, C:\Z\JOHN, to recreate a data that has been being backed up since 2006 until recently. all these folders have data contents based on it's restored date. all these have a folder structure created as per the date that has been backed up if a file was been used or created it was backed up, if not, no backup of that file was done. all these backups folders are named and dated with diferente dates, since 2006. we have a series of backup sets of the user folder JOHN that's has already been restored to specific folders. ![]() In essence we want to restore data of a user name John that has been being backed for some years. If doesn't exist, we want it to be created. If it exist we want to be replaced by the new data being moved. We already have various links of the parameter, so don't just send us a link we would appreciate someone who is experienced with these tools. Note, we would like an EE that have actually used these tools. Please advice on the correct format for FastCopy and RoboCopy. if the destination folder exist we want to overwrite and not be asked if YES or NO to overwrite.įinally we were told that if we use the "Move" parameter (deletes the source after the copy is done), on any of the apps, it sometimes write zeros. So when finish moving, there will be c:\zFolder\Folder1.And we want to move that folder to a new location within the same drive, say c:\zFolder.For example we a c:\Folder1 that has over 1gb of data and its own structure of subfolders. ![]() We are testing via command line the apps FastCopy
